first post in a while… got a new mix up at the excellent GIMME TINNITUS blog. check it. bunch of new stuff coming up… can’t reveal much at this point but i will say that some of it involves degi hari video.
today a mix i put together was posted at mondayjazz. head over there and check it out! the text:
Coming back after a break Mondayjazz mixes serie this week offers to ride on a border between urbanistic strokes and conceptual electronic music. American sound creator Pollination, whom just made an album Inca Orange, delivers MJ mix No. 103, under the fontal name Commuter. With it is allowed to check albums line by the ear glance and to hear some of it’s influencies with the wide open receptors.
Partly this mix in it’s tracklist, moods and aesthetics is typical for MJ stylistics, but on the other hand it takes us to the unusual sonic spaces. Pollination himself blends his creations from electroacustic experiments, tape manipulations and other for urban music quite exotic elements. In Commuter compilation beats are crossed with the experimental electronic music, computer folk, not being scared to go to melancholic levitations. So an interesting work for intense Monday’s listening and studying.
i posted some rough demos over on the myspace page, http://www.myspace.com/pollinati. not sure what will become of them, but there they are…
in other news, day of the woman is getting together remixes for an album release, probably fairly soon, on exponential. more info on that shortly… however i will say that some of the remixers we have secured will be surprising. dotw is on an ‘indefinite hiatus,’ which has resulted in me working with both yppah and stenographer separately.
i also have a new collaboration going on with pouff. i dont want to toot my own horn* but i think it will be awesome. and 10k cities is still in the works, if that is even possible. i think we’ll finish it eventually, but who knows. we have some guest vox from jonathan visger of mason proper for the 10k stuff… keep an eye out.
aaand finally a remix i did for ape school will be on a digital release via ninjatune in november alongside remixes from, among others, daedelus, yppah, fog, and pop levi. get it! BWOOOSH!
the yppah remix from the ep is up on XLR8R as a free download, check it out HERE.
also, the stenographer remix from the same thing is available on last.fm, HERE.
the other remixes are also available at that link, apparently there were some tracks left off the automated import into last.fm, so the remixes are on a separate album. great job!
also, there is a new album in the works, as well as a few collabs with dudes/dudettes, more info on those shortly.
